The Truth will ultimately emerge from the black hole of propaganda. The Tamils of Sri Lanka must be saved from massacre by the chauvinist Sinhala Buddhist fanatics.

It is believed that quasars are massive black holes in the centres of young galaxies. The truth about the ongoing 60 years of Sri Lankan State sponsored genocide against the Tamils is slowly but unremittingly starting to emerge from the quasar type black hole of government perfidy. This is instanced from three recent reports emanating from countries on three different continents; the United States of America, Europe and India. The usual canard of the rabid Sinhalese to counter criticism is to level an unsubstantiated allegation of consorting with the LTTE and international terrorism. California Democratic Congressman Brad Sherman has been tritely accused by the extremist Sinhala expatriates of accepting funds from the LTTE. It is an insult to American lawmakers in general.

The next report was from a delegation of EU Parliamentarians led by Mr Robert Evans MEP, who saw the situation for themselves and were unimpressed by Sri Lankan government propaganda on their visit to Sri Lanka. It is learnt from Sri Lankan newspapers that the Sri Lankan government is looking to thrash their report. "The government on its part, the Daily Mirror learns, has initiated moves to counter the report and is of the view that most of the delegations members who visited Sri Lanka recently led by EU Parliamentarian Robert Evans, were biased in their findings and are mainly after votes from the Tamil Diaspora in the EU at the next elections to the EU Parliament". This is yet another blatant attempt to impugn the motives of an official EU Parliamentary delegation as they do not like the message. The third instance is a statement from an senior Indian Defence Advisor. The Straits Times of Singapore has quoted Mr M.K. Narayanan, the Indian Defence Advisor as saying " The (Sri Lanka Army) has made a lot of progress in the last few weeks. But even if they win the battle I am not sure they will win the war. I think they haven't got the Tamil population on their side.” The Sinhalese establishment has gone apoplectic with this honest assessment.

The impervious black facade has started permitting shafts of the light of truth from behind the false bravura of the 'Arrack' soaked chauvinist Sinhala elite mouthing chants to the Buddha and engaged in their favourite sport of carousing while battering the Tamils. The Roman Emperors pitted the Gladiators against the Lions but these Buddhist fiends have gone further in their blood sports by corralling the Tamil civilian populace from their homes in their thousands into flimsy shelters to be attacked by their supersonic bombers and by their multi barrelled rocket launchers. The magnitude of this unscrupulous assault against the civilian Tamil population in their own homeland can be established by the fact that it is sustained by a continuous supply of military ordinance from Pakistan at the rate of a shipload of this deadly cargo arriving in Colombo Port once in ten days. The Pakistan government and the Chinese too by their armaments supply are colluding in this genocide of the Tamils, with the West and our neighbour, India, turning an unconscionable blind eye towards it. The moral right of India to exercise its dawning role of a regional power in the area has been vitiated thus far by its abandonment of the Tamils of Sri Lanka to what is turning out to be their Armageddon (final battle for survival).

This is not an exaggeration or bombast but has to be measured in terms of over 100,000 Tamils killed, 1,000,000 Tamils internally displaced and 1,000,000 Tamils driven out to live in foreign lands, out of the 4,000,000 Tamils of Sri Lanka. Who can deny that when over 2.5% of Tamils have been killed and 50% displaced that it is not a campaign by the Sinhalese to wipe out the Tamils of Sri Lanka? This is genocide that has been very craftily carried out under the veil of a war against 'terrorism'. The oppressed Tamils of Sri Lanka are defending themselves against state terror and are fighting for freedom and justice. The international media reports on the abominations in Zimbabawe and Darfur but has utterly failed to either recognise a genocide or to bring the nefarious regime of the Rajapakse's in Sri Lanka to justice. The world wrung its hands in horror after the mass killings of Rwanda and Srbenica but stood idly by during its currency, doing nothing to avert it. It is unfortunately doing the same while the beasts of Sri Lanka are exterminating the Tamils. We call primarily on India and Britain, for self-evident reasons, to stop this massacre immediately with force as the Russians have shown in South Ossetia.

Expatriates confront US congressman over his support for Tigers

Washington, D.C. (Asiantribune.com): A sizable group of Sri Lankan expatriates condemned California Democratic Congressman Brad Sherman for supporting the LTTE terrorist agenda and handed over a petition describing the nature of the crisis brought about by LTTE terrorism.

After years of writing letters and pleading to have their voices heard, the expatriates in California launched a new strategy they hope would act as a catalyst for Lankans to meet face-to-face the American lawmakers who succumb to the Tamil Tiger terrorist lobby and explain Sri Lanka’s side of the story.

The expatriates first held placards and shouted slogans at the entrance to the Reseda High School Auditorium where the Congressman was holding a meeting, and voiced their protest about his support for the cause of Tamil Tiger terrorism.

Mr. Sherman accepted the petition but left the Auditorium when the Sri Lankans began to question his support to Tamil Tigers and accepting funds from its US front organization TRO.

After reading the placard which alleged that the congressman accepted campaign funds from a terrorist group, Congressman Brad Sherman said "No I did not accept funds from the LTTE.

EU to examine draft report on Lanka

By Easwaran Rutnam

The European Union (EU) will examine a draft report on Sri Lanka sometime next month before it is put forward to the EU Parliament, an EU official told the Daily Mirror yesterday.

The report prepared by an EU delegation which visited Sri Lanka recently is expected to tilt heavily against the government. Philippe Kamaris, Administrator, Directorate General for External Policies of the European Parliament said the European Parliament's delegation for relations with South Asia would examine the draft mission report on Sri Lanka most likely by mid next month.

“From a procedural point of view, what I can say is that the situation in Sri Lanka will again be on the agenda of the EP's Delegation for relations with south Asia when it will examine the draft mission report, likely in mid September,” Mr. Kamaris said in a short email to the Daily Mirror. He said the report would subsequently be forwarded for a follow up to the relevant Parliamentary Committees of the House including the Foreign Affairs Committee, the International Trade Committee and the Human Rights Subcommittee. The report is likely to have an impact on the deliberations by the EU when it considers the extension of the GSP Plus trade concession for Sri Lanka in October.

The government on its part, the Daily Mirror learns, has initiated moves to counter the report and is of the view that most of the delegations members who visited Sri Lanka recently led by EU Parliamentarian Robert Evans, were biased in their findings and are mainly after votes from the Tamil Diaspora in the EU at the next elections to the EU Parliament. Under the GSP Plus concession awarded in 2005 to help Sri Lanka rebuild after the 2004 tsunami, Sri Lankan exporters enjoy preferential tariff treatment from the EU. As a result, the EU is Sri Lanka ’s biggest export market, accounting for annual sales of around $1 billion; about half are covered by GSP Plus.

Beneficiaries must however comply with 27 international conventions, on environmental, labour and human rights standards to be eligible for the concession.

Sri Lanka's failure to address human rights concerns, including a "frightening" number of abductions, could cost the island nation a lucrative trade concession, the European Union warned last month. "The European Parliament delegation remains extremely anxious about the impact a possible loss of GSP+ status would have on the economy and employment in Sri Lanka," the EU said last month.

'Sri Lanka may win the battle against the Tamil Tigers but not the war as 'they haven't got the Tamil population on their side', India's National Security Advisor M.K. Narayanan

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 12 August 2008, 13:14 GMT] Sri Lanka may win the battle against the Tamil Tigers but not the war as 'they haven't got the Tamil population on their side', India's National Security Advisor M.K. Narayanan said in an interview with the Straits Times newspaper published Tuesday. Saying India understands the Tamils, Mr. Narayanan asked of Sri Lanka, “Do they want a situation like many countries have faced?” His comments come after a survey in a leading Tamil Nadu weekly suggested the majority of people there support the LTTE and want Indian intervention in Sri Lanka.

“The (Sri Lanka Army) has made a lot of progress in the last few weeks. But even if they win the battle I am not sure they will win the war. I think they haven't got the Tamil population on their side,” he said.
